Bye-Bye Black

_MG_5061

Ready to lighten up for the spring and summer, we recently bid our black living room a fond farewell. I selected Benjamin Moore’s Linen White for the walls to complement the cream colored linen upholstery on our sofas. Love the room especially with the afternoon sun illuminating the gold toned accessories!

Entertaining Thoughts

With the holiday season coming quickly, I recently jazzed up our skirted round table which often does double duty as a dessert station or bar. The stunning 6-sided pendant from the Brocante Home Collection casts a warm glow over the entire setting. A band of fuchsia linen adds punch to the drum skirt and looks great with the vintage English pheasant plates.

A Recent Project: Weems Home

Heirloom family pieces beautifully complement the new sofa, lamps and fabrics all from the Brocante Home Collection.

Love the repetition of circles in the rug, tea table, marble inlay in the coffee table and orbs on mantel!

All the best,
Ann

P.S. Please join us for the Paris-style Flea Market at Brocante Home this Friday and Saturday, May 25-26 from 10-4.

Sun Room – Fun Room! Part 1

Bold, bright and fun, I’m loving the oranges and fuchsias seen in this spring’s fashions.

When these gorgeous pillows recently arrived at Brocante Home, I just had to try them out in my sunroom.

A few gold toned accessories will add a dose of glam and sparkle. Next time I’ll show you the results!

All the best,
Ann

Saltwater Therapy

I recently helped a friend transform her coastal getaway from the boys’ fish camp to a place the girls in the family could love, too. The calming palette of soft taupes, blues and grays was lifted from the pluff mud and gorgeous water views. Older pieces of furniture were updated with Annie Sloan paint and new linen fabrics. With a soothing blend of natural and neutral, now every family member is treated to a relaxing vacation!

All the best,
Ann

Sneak Preview – Rachel’s House

As promised, I want to give you a sneak peek into some of my makeovers! I’ve been working with Rachel Pugliese, owner of the stylish shop Brocante Home in Irvington, as we transform her former living room to a dining room. Since she rarely used this space, we moved her living room furniture to her recently added sunroom. Here’s how it looks so far:

The elegant yet inviting space is dressed in a soothing neutral palette and spiced with pops of lavender.

Linen drapery panels and antiqued, mirrored shutters serve as a backdrop for Rachel’s white wood and glass dining table.

Her former dining room now functions as a “library” with a burlap skirted table, two French style chairs, rustic candle sticks and stacks of fabulous books.

Napoleon guards her staircase. (You may remember him from the RW-C Showhouse we decorated last year.)
